Hummingbird’s product innovation recognised at the Hunter Manufacturing Awards

Hummingbird is proud to announce we have been recognised as highly commended for the Excellence in Innovation Award at the Hunter Manufacturing Awards, held on the 11^th of October 2019.

We were fortunate enough to have two products entered into this category; the Silent Horn and Audio Alert System.

The HMA awards are an opportunity to acknowledge excellence in manufacturing throughout the Hunter Valley region. The awards showcased thirteen different categories including, Excellence in Safety, Product Design, Manufacturing Processes and Environmental Excellent etc.

HMA Chairman Steve Smith mentioned the diversity of businesses throughout the finalists selected “Our finalists this year represent the diversity of manufacturing in our region – from large, long established organisations through too much younger firms in the early stages of their business journey.  They also represent the diversity of products made in the region”

The award for Excellence in Innovation recognises an innovative product, that improves the safety of manufacturing processes, results in an increase in sales or contributes to the reduction of costs. The innovation category assesses if the product has made a difference, is useful and has a potential market.

The Hummingbird Silent Horn is a system to replace noisy machine horns. Operators of Heavy machinery and vehicles can contact drivers and operators at the touch of a button. Operators can send and receive visual and audio alerts without the requirement of noisy horns.

The Audio Alert System provides heavy machinery operators precise verbal warnings and alarms, that could be often ignored. The Audio Alert System can implement messages that could easily protect the safety of people working in and around large vehicles and machinery.

Regarding the recent success by Hummingbird in the HMA awards, Hummingbird’s National Sales and Marketing Manager Mark Bruce said. “We take great pride in achieving highly commended in the Excellence in Innovation category, it’s a testament to the hard work and dedication to innovation which is embraced by the team at Hummingbird.”
